Meet Loki the fear aggressive Alaskan malamute. This is her second off lead session socialising with other dogs. When I first met Loki she wanted to go after pretty much any dog she saw, she would get so worked up that she became difficult to control. The aggressive outburst were all stemming from her being terrified of dogs.
Our first session began with getting Loki use to walking past dogs without reacting, and just enjoying a walk, during that session we also got Loki use to walking with another dog.
Session 2 we brought a pack of dogs to put around Loki during this session Loki wanted to be anywhere but with the dogs, this was because she was not allowed to act aggressively so her response was to run away. She relaxed a little bit but not fully but was a huge step.
Session 3 I brought super Sammie to meet and be off lead with Loki, we also include the second dog in the house hold Angel ( completely social) to further boost her confidence it worked.
This was session 4, three off lead dogs a Rottweiler, a Staffordshire bull terrier and a Heinz 57 (belived to be a rottie x staff) where for the first time not only did Loki learn to relax around strange dogs but she even warmed to my dog Bella and had a few little plays and runs (as you can see from the video)
The final icing on th cake for Loki today was she traveled home in th back of the car with Bella without a grumble.
I could not be more proud of this dog. In 4 sessions she has gone from fearful dog trying to attack every dog to relaxed and enjoying being around other dogs.
Loki's next step is to join my obedience/socialisation classes to keep her on point and to watch her continue to grow in confidence
